Yes. When you enter you may opt to have a tree planted instead of receiving a finishers medal. If you had opted for a medal but latterly decided to opt for a tree please Email Info@bigfeatevents.com.
We are exceptionally proud of our medals - a lot of effort goes into their design and we are pleased that they are so appreciated. Our medals are bespoke and ordered in advance. In the interests of reducing waste we order enough for the anticipated number of entrants, based on the number signed up at the time of ordering and historical later entries. On event day after the last person crosses the line you can ask at the finish line if any are left.
Please check the race information page and the participants Email when it is sent. These will both advise the cutoff for all distances.
The requirement is for your safety. It is very easy to become dehydrated when covering challenging terrain, moreover if you find that you are injured and need to spend a prolonged time out on the trail having fluid will make all the different to your wellbeing.
We strongly advise participants to download the GPX file of the route onto a wearable watch or mobile device. We hope that you will not need to use the GPX file as this is a marked course event. However, arrows can be tampered with, so the ability to check where you are if in doubt is advisable.
If you need to drop down to a shorter option please advise a marshal of your name and bib number and which distance you are transferring from and to. You will only be able to effect this at designated course splits which will also be marshalled.
You will be able to refill your water / fluid carrier at the aid stations. If you wish to enjoy coke (not in your fluid carrier) you will need to bring a cup. We have cups available to purchase (£4). They are usually available near registration at the start. There are NO cups at the aid stations.
Yes we provide parking for free. We always encourage car sharing to minimise our local impact.
Start times are determined by distance and time. Our courses are, in the main, on rural trail paths, staggered start times are necessary to ensure the safety of all our participants, to spread out runners and so ensure that there are no bottle necks, and ensure our ability to clear the course as per our license. If you are running together and the same distance please contact info@bigfeatevents.com.
Yes, we have hosted guided runners on multiple occasions. Provided you are running with a guide and can meet the stated cutoff times, we would be pleased to have you join us. Please ensure that your entry states that you are a guided runner or contact info@bigfeatevents.com.
